Possible gill parasite...Please HELP..

I have had a problem w/ a few of my fish over the past year. So far ive lost a 6'' dojo loach and 5'' jack dempsey and two pink cichlids go from what I have come to suspect as a type of gill parasite. Now it has affected my fl gar. I hadnt seen any problems(siezures...fish spazzin out uncontrollably), in quite some time. So to treat this I am dosing my tank at about 66-70%....8 ten gallon tablets of tetracycline for a 120 gallon tank. Im adding 2 tablets every 15minutes. It says to dose them for 5 days. So I am gonna dose 80 gallons of my water for 5 days straight to try and rid of this parasite.

ANy help or info you guys/girls can give me is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
HELP!!! This tetracycline has done nothing. Today was my fourth day dosing my tank and again my Gar had seizures....anybody know why? I do weekly 30% w/c and now im starting w/c twice a week. I did a 30% w/c today since my gar was showing no sign of improvement. help!!!please
 
jungle brand makes a parasite med-i would use that. or another treatment is done with a 10 to 30 minute bath in 10 mg per liter of potassium permanganate. Or treat the whole tank with 2 mg per liter, but this method is messy and dyes the water.

can u see the flukes? you should be able to see them with a hand lense if you pull the fish out and look around the gills-it eventually destroys the gills completely, causing death. another symptom is the fish is pale, scraping against rocks and decor, rapid breathing, and their stomaches look hollow..

how do you know you even have gill flukes? can you post pics of the fish on here? seizures dont seem to fit the diagnosis of gill flukes, so you need to be 100 percent sure, othewise you are mistreating the disease. it could be bacterial.
 
i would use prazipro though. it has no effect on anything besides the parasite.

ive had fatalities b4 with the jungle parasite guard b4 because it takes a ton of o2 out of the water.

ive seen fish start to have seizures from lack of o2 also.

what are ur water params? temp? we need more info if u dont have proof of flukes
 
I dont think its gill flukes any more....I did a large w/c and cleaned my filters and so far so good. There is nothing showing in the gill area.
 
I have been cleaning my tank every 3 days. My water perameters are fine. My tank is at 79. My gar had seizures again for the first time in a few weeks. I dont know why...I cant see anything wrong w/ his gills. I have had other fish do this....a dempsey and a dojo loach. They both eventually died. I dont know what is causing this. But its getting frustrating. Please help.
