A guy brought in a Rosie hair tarantula into the lfs I work at wanting to get rid of it. He left the cage and what he kept the crickets in. The cage was completely scratched and ironically the monster energy logo was spray painted on the side. So we threw the 10g away but the cricket keeper is quite interesting. It's about a gallon, I'm not on the computer so can't use the calc, it's 10x6x5". I was going to just do a planted with possibly some shrimp. However I was thinking, and the store I work at has some Fiji live rocks that beautiful and covered in all sorts of coral, purple algae, all sorts of feather dusters and such, I even saw a live clam in there. Would it be possible to buy a pound or of live rock and keep some of it alive in such a small tank. I plan on rigging up a light and a filter. Pic.

Quite possible. A hob filter would give you enough flow. Nutrient control would be the hard part. Controlling keeping nutrients high enough to sustain life withought fowling. You could add some crabs and shrimp after it cycles to help and give you something to feed. Search "pico" saltwater setups. There's a lot you can do. But you'll need to keep up with top offs omr you'll burn everything up

Thanks for the tips, I'll add a small filter... I was kinda Thinkin of doing one of eheims small canisters... And maybe a pound or whatever will fit nicely of live rock tomorrow... A heater which I need to figure out. Or could live Rock snails hermits etc live in about 70 year around? I'll add a few small hermits and snails, is there any "artificial" nutrients I can buy?

Temp is a tough one. They probably could but they would probably die faster and death in a tank that small would cause issues. Best bet buy a 10g filter and see if you can't find a small under gravel heater or put a small heater in behind the rock

Just buy an HOB filter rather than a canister filter as canister filters can be a nightmare for saltwater aquariums.

Also, the heat given off the pump for the filter should be able keep the aquarium in the mid to upper 70's without any trouble at all. I am able to maintain a temperature of 78°F in my four gallon planted aquarium with an average room temperature of 70°F between heat given off by the submerged pump & the LED lighting (more the pump though as the lighting isn't very powerful), so you shouldn't have any issues maintaining an appropriate temperature in this one gallon aquarium.

If this works it will probably be bad ass!! Post pictures and yeah top offs are the most important thing you loose too much water in there the salt level could be deadly I would definitely put some shrimp or hermits something like that

Ok thanks for the tips, I am able to be pretty diligent with top offs as long as its like once or twice a day, hopefully not multiple times a day? And I don't have a tap for water any where near my tank if a top off device requires one...

For topping off I just need to add fresh, correct?

Which leads me to another question. RO or tap? Tap would obviously be easier, but I can do RO also. If RO if highly recommended, I'll do it, but what do you add to make it marine condition, ph/hardness buffer?
