Hey guys,

I presently have 6 stingrays (between 6-9") with a 12" HBRTG in a 5' x 3' x 2.5' (280 gals) tank.

Two questions:

1. Can I or should I add some more fish (wanna add some active fish in the mid water level area ?? The idea is to have some more free swimming fish in top and mid level of tank.

2. What are suitable tankmates ?? I wanna avoid both fish that may stress the rays and fish that may become feeders.

I want to add a flagtail but can't find it any where. I may get some banded leporinus. Another available option that comes to my mind is a tinfoil barb but its too mundane to add to this combo of fish.

Looking forward to your suggestions. Thanks.

what about giant danio? a school of them would be good for movement without taking away from the show pieces, tho at current I can't recall if the Danio would become food or if they grow larger.. hmm

Your tank is fully stocked already in my opinion. In fact if those rays are motoros you will be needing a new tank soon. Oh when you do get other fish don't go fir the banded leporinus. The can turn real nasty!

Must agree with Sam if the rays are motoro u need to be thinking of new tank instead of new fish . When u do have room motoro tend to like the taste of flagtails i add 2 both 8 inch lasted 4 month . What's worked for me is a I'd shark very peicefull and mid top swimmer

When you have a bigger tank,i think you would be surprised how good a bunch of big tinnys looks, and they are certainly active
does that size really work out to 280g?
