Over here.
My Ray tank was very cloudy this morning and I found these when I got home from work. Don't know if she was pregnant. Could this be a miscarriage?

What do you feed her? I know nothing about what fetuses look like, but that sure looks like undigested clam or other seafood to me... Maybe she disgorged?

They eat shrimp. It always comes out red after digestion. These things are slimey like a raw egg. I've had rays for many years now and I've never seen anything like this.

If they are fetuses you should see some blood vessels happening - I don't see those? Maybe she threw up some shrimp? But you're right - it doesn't look like that... I know that sometimes fish poop "changes" and comes out differently...

Hopefully another Ray guy will know...

how big are they? the rays that is. Has she been eating anymore? And is she eating well now? Any tank mates? any bite marks on mom? male mature? how long have they been with each other?

Ive seen some rays that spit out the pups early. And they were more solid and were very thin. If it was a pup. I think it would be more defined by the size of that

The male is 16" and very mature . The female is 18" and has always eaten like a pig. I noticed the male chasing her around and trying to breed with her in late July. I woke up one morning and the tank was extremely cloudy. The water looked very milky and the male was all over the female. I left for work and don't know if they hooked up or not. The water was clear by the end of the day as if nothing ever happened.

some rays I had in the past regirgitated there shrimp and I remember it not looking like it should but not sure if it looked like that.... but maybe the male is just a lil too frisky and needed some relief :naughty:

BTW beautifull leopoldi

doesnt look much like a non developed ray or she definitly spit out way too early. the rays are definitely gorgeous though
