possible oscar breeding pair

k so yesterday my dad toled me my to oscars where fighting so when i went they were lip locking and well i dont think it was aggresion cause i dont really ever see them fight. so can you guys give me more info on telling if they are actually a breeding pair

oh and the sizes are 8" possible male and 6" possible female and the size dif is cause the larger is a couple months older oh snd the pic was very old they are both much bigger now

If you look closely at the vent tubes coming out of their butt, you can easilt sex the two..........Female tubes are a lot thicker and point straight down...The male tubes are a thinner, and tend to bend backwards slightly..........
 
but thats when they are mating and i tested my water and i need more bio media it the nitrates where 160ppm!!!!!!! and the nitrites are at .5ppm so no breeding there
 
Oscars lay eggs pretty easily in home aquariums without little help from owners. But it isn't unusual to get 2 female that lay eggs regularly.......
 
good luck with you breeding. Hopefully, they turn out to be a pair. It is very exciting to see the fry after they hatch.
