ok so, i just adopted a 3" golden nugget pleco from my wifes 55 gallon tank. She is turning the tank into a discuss only tank that requires temps to be 86-88 degrees at all times. Obviously this wont be good for the pleco that likes 72-75 degrees. when i netted the pleco and put her in a bag i could see her stomache. it, imo, is severely sunken in like she doesnt eat. I know for a fact that she does because i feed her. I watch her eat algae wafers and as an occassional treat, she eats a slice of zuchinni or cuucumber. Last night i read in another thread about an internal parasite that wild caught pleco's may have. Is this a possibility? how do i treat her? My wife bought her almost 2 months ago....i cant beleive we never noticed her stomache!!
anyways here are some pics of her stomache.....sorry i couldnt get better pics!

Just wondering: Where did you come up with the fact that GN's need 72-75 degree water?
ok, so i guess its just where you get your info from. ive done some more research and one site claims temps should be from 72-75, another claims 75-78, and the last i checked grouped 3 different L-classification golden nuggets temp range to be from 78-86.
so, i dont know what to go by.

Gold Nuggets come from the Rio Xingu. Xingu's tempetures are around 82-86. It would work in your wifes discus tank. Only if there is high airation, though.
