I have two juvie Ocellaris. They have been doing great for one week, eating rosies almost straight from my hand. I haven't fed them today and I just noticed that the slightly smaller one has become very dark in color where the black stripes and patches are. I mean very dark! Also, the other pb is picking on him a bit. Charging and shoving every once in a while. Does this sound familiar to anyone? MAybe I am being paranoid. But, his colors have changed a lot in only one day. I can load pics before and after if that would help. Hope to hear from you all!

my little pbass do that alot, if it is what i think it is its normal. they can chage color from dark to light veryy fast, but he could be geting darker if he is stressed. they will do this when fighting, witch is normal. even my big 12" monos, when they mess with each other the female would get very very darl almost black and males whould get very bright in color but there black stipes got darker.
but as long as ur water is fine and everything else seems fine i think there ok

who knows could be velvet.. hope not. but yea my ocell does that too he darkens up during feeding time and then pales out after it. i think its a sign of emote.

btw welcome to the MFK and lmao nice signature. i agree 100%.

I keep the water temp at 84 because they are young and eating store bought feeders. i don't want an ich problem. The temp has risen as of right now to 87.5 because it is hot as hell here! SHould I cool the tank? Everything else is good except the temp increase throughout the day. He is sooo dark right now and the other one if fine. Do you think I should lower the temp? I was thinking frozen cups. =)
