I have had my RBPs for 2 months now, and they are growing like weeds! I finally caved in to the desire to see 'em eat a live fish and bought some feeders from the LFS. (Where I got the Ps) I explained my concerns about Ich and he quelled them and told me everything would be fine. Cool, I thought.

I tossed the fist one in there and it didnt last 30 seconds, I was so stoked. Fast forward about 3 weeks, and I tossed one in there friday night and went to a friends house for a party. Came home at about 10, 4 hours later, and the fish had one bite taken out of it, and floating. Dead. I took it out and tossed in another. Played some Battlefield 2, and went to bed.

Now, Sunday night, that feeder is still in there, alive and well. I just took it out and got rid of it. Now, here is the potential problem.

One P is 2", one is 2.5". The smaller seems fine, but kinda just sits there and has seemingly taken over the larger one's hiding spot. The larger one, just swims aimlessly, and kinda hovers in the corner for 30-45 min at a time, swims to another place and sits there for a while.

I tossed in some brine shrimp 15 min ago, the smaller one had its meal, the larger one didnt care that it was there. The smaller one did take a nice chomp out of the larger one's tail a while ago, but other than that he looks normal.

Should I be worried about a possible disease? Should I plan to buy new P's in the next few days? I know there is little I can do, except wait, but I figured I would post my story and see what the experts (you guys) think.

Sorry for the book-sized post, but I am a little worried. Please post any advice and/or questions.

Thanks!

try adding at least 1 more piranha. that way there isnt a big and little.

Well, I gave it a few days and it seems both Ps are back to normal. Currently they are in a 20 gal tank, but I am getting a 55 gal in the next day or so.

It almost as if the bogger P had like a 48 hour bug so to speak.

could have been from gulping air this happens with fast eaters sometimes just keep an eye on him you could add a little salt to the tank eases the breathing and is good for stressed fish a couple of tablespoons should do it
as recommened a bigger tank and some more tankmates will help with the aggression
