My buddy has a tank I found out that would be GREAT for a ray tank... its 4ft wide.... but only 15" tall.... is that going to be a problem only being 15" tall? Thanks guys

Height is not that important with rays (since they are bottom dwellers) but they do seem to explore allot and swim up the sides doing there exploring. So maybe a larger ray might feel a bit cramped in that depth. I am no ray expert but I would say it should be just fine but maybe not optimal depth for that footprint especially since the water will be below the top of the tank so it being 15" tall might only have 13" or so of actual water depth.

That makes a great ray or reef tank. Mine is 18" tall. The footprint is key (LxW), not height. My 20" ray still swims the sides occasionally w/no problem.

just keep in mind, you wont get any breeding in that tank. Or at least i would be highly supprised. Normally males will swim behind a female in mid water and flip them or flip undernieght them. 15" would make it pretty difficult.

it should work out, but take what turkeyboy85 said in consideration. best of luck to ya!!! post pics if u get it setup.

i had a 20" motoro in a 12" tall tank b4 w no problems (she never swims up the sides anyway)

i would think u will still get some breeding...
