I came home after work yesterday, and noticed my jag was nowhere to be seen. It's only a juvie, and currently housed in a 55 with a couple other small SA/CA cichlids, and a couple bichirs. (Yeah, its over crowded right now, but I did take 2 of fish out and traded them in at the LFS today). Usually, it is right out front following me around everytime I walk by. I found it sitting on its belly in the back of the tank under a plant. When I dropped in some food (bite size shrimp pieces), he came out and was his normal self again. He was fine all day, until I netted out the 2 fish I traded in. When I got back, he was back on the bottom again. I'm a little worried b/c it's a total change in behavior. He still eats, water tests out fine (in fact just changed it 2 nights ago). Any suggestions?

Any heavy breathing? Doesn't sound too bad. Keep a close eye on him. Try fasting him for at least 2 days.

ya prolly full. my oscar used to chow and just sit on the bottom. and all my cichlids do that once in a while, but usually are swimmin around in a couple of days

Thanks, definitely glad to hear that. He(or she) may be little, but still my favorite cichlid.
