well i look at my tank quite a bit and today i notice 2 spots with 4 or 5 of what looks like eggs... i tryed to take a few picks...there not that great tho... anyway what do you guys think? are they or arent they eggs? and if so then do you think i cant find any more cause they were eaten? stock is huge firemouth, 7 inch suncat, 2 10-12 inch peru monos (not vented but pretty sure 1 is male and 1 is female, the smaller has a pretty good size hump comin in and the other doesnt and is 2 inches bigger so i figure if it was gonna it would of by now) and 1 10inch orino, not sure on sex but i think male.

looks like eggs to me .do you have any other pairs of fish in tank ? Shoot if not i would move the other fish and let them try again most likely most of the eggs were eaten . Put some flat slate in for them . I think there are a few theads from d mack on pbass spawning do's and dont's.Thats cool!!HA you were just saying the nochel hump was developing !!Also go to the breeding section there may be additives so eggs wont mold there are guys with alot more experiance than i.

they are the only pair in there.. i guess if they do it again i will consider giving them there own spot.. space is tight right now.. got plenty of tanks but no where to put them right now lol

Ya shoot why not give it a shot!!

they do look like eggs but that's amazing that such a small pair of cichla spawned! were they protecting the eggs?

i dont know. that tank is in a different room and ive been busy so i havent been in there to much latley other then to feed them. but i can say the orino and firemouth are a lil more beat up now then normally.. i rarly see that orino with marks

The firemouth is most likely your egg eater. Like the other guy said give them a nice big flat rock. They will put eggs all over it. Relocate that Firemouth if you can, the Orino probly wont bother the eggs but will like the fry!
