possible tankmates for Heros sp.?

Hey guys (and girls),

Our LFS will order some Heros sp. with the next shipment and I am thinking about getting one or 2. The only question is: In which tank should I put them?

I've got one tank with 0,1 3 inch rocio octofasciatum & 1 GT (approx. 6 inch length), one tank with 1,0 3 inch rocio octofasciatum and 1 4 inch Hoplosternon thoracatum and one tank with 1,0 Geophagus brasiliensis and 1,0 Thorichthys meeki. Some other tanks of similar size (most of them are 200l/50gal) are also available with no fish but turtles.

Is there a tank I can put some Heros in or are they too shy to compete with the other species?

The Severum could possibly go in the tank with the Brasiliensis and the Firemouth. I don't know how aggressive your firemouth is but it might leave the severums alone. I'm not real big on mixing south and Central Americans but you've already got the firemouth and the Brasiliensis so the Severum won't hurt that mix. What Temp do you have that tank at? If its lower it wouldn't be a good idea. Both of those fish you have in that tank like cooler temps.
