Does anyone know if its possible to gutload nightcrawlers? I know it can be done with mealworms, but I'm just asking because I never heard of gutloaded nightcrawlers before.

Quick edit - Can i somehow gutload them with tilapia fillet pieces, market shrimp, hikari pellets, frozen beefheart, or frozen bloodworms?

Reason for this is because my channa barely accepted nightcrawlers and now I want to pump him with some nutrition. He refuses to eat the foods I named up above yet, so this is the only way as of now.

Depending on the size of the night crawlers you can stuff pellets inside of it. Cut the tip of the night crawler off and load them up. Kinda nasty but it works.

Nightcrawlers are fairly easy to breed if you have a cool damp place... in this situation you control their diet and can raise them on whatever you like. Compost (uncooked food scratps) is easy, nutritional, and works great... you could use Tilapia, etc will also work just as well, it just costs more...

If you are buying a cup of them and looking to quickly gut load them... it's worth trying but I've never done it...

When we feed big worms to our fish I've always been told to squeeze the worm from end to end to push all the gunnk out of it... if you do this and it was only 'gutloaded' a few hours ago this may be pushing out the good stuff you just put into the worm.

I would have to agree, why not squeeze out the gunk, and then re-stuff it maybe you could use a plastic syringe (small hole, not a needle) and inject them with a paste?

I bought a bottle of it before but never seemed to use it more than once. I'll do that syringe-into-nightcrawler method that was mentioned.
