I have an endii and an ornate in a separate tank.bought them a week ago.i am thinking of putting them in my main tank, residents are:2 sens,1 spotted gar,2 firemouth,1 fh,and 2 small catfish(tsn & rtc).
My concern is,all of the residents in main tank are eating pellets, while the 2 new polys are not yet.
If i put the new polys with them, the only way for them not to starve is to eat pellets, because even if i put some live feeders in their, chances are the bigger sens or gar or fh will be the one to catch it.
What do you think?is there a chance that they can starve to death because they're not taking pellets yet?say i put them in the tank, how long should i give them to learn to eat pellets before getting them out in case they don't eat?
Tank size is 200 gallons.
endii is 5"
ornate 5"
Dominant residents(in terms of eating):
sens 9" & 7"
spotted gar 9"
fh 7"

first off get the FH it own tank and i would try and get them on pellet first before putting them in the main tank.

Lol!i knew that having fh with them would steal the scene, and i will assume that sooner it'll be the rtc.
The fh have been in the tank with the sens for over a year now,6months with the gar,3months with the cats.
Hard to believe it may be,fh never bothers them.200 is big for fh,atleast this fh.lol!

With that RTC and TSN even your Senegals may end up on the menu in a couple of months.....
And I'd wait till they are accepting pellets before adding them Polys usually are quick to eat other things if you stick to just pellets...A week of only adding Massivore or NLS should work

Yup.

I'm pretty new to this forum so please excuse me, but what does fh stand for?
As far as your new polys starving goes... I've had my two endlis not eat for almost three weeks ( during illness) and both have come back as good as new. Just make sure there is enough food and keep the lights down or off. I find my endlis prefer eating in very low light.

i see,i will wait then before transferring them.
As for the cats,no worries.i am just trying to enjoy them while they're young and while in the tank.coz when i put them in a pond, all i'll be seeing is top view.so for now while their young,i'm enjoying them.don't worry,i am not letting the cats eat my polys.so please....no more criticism,i am aware of what the cats can do.i am no noob..
