my girlfriend and i were fishing today when we saw a giant fish floating near a fallen tree in the water. we rowed the boat over to it and to my suprise it was an absolutely huge grass carp. it must have died over night, because it was very fresh. i did a length and girth measurement so i could try and get a weight calculation. this monster was 54" long and had a girth of 28"!!! i know someone who can age fish by using the scales so i took several scale samples to do this. do any of you guys know a fairly accurate formula to calculate the weight? i did some research and according these dimensions this fish is rivaling the world record.
