I haven't been able to get a picture of these guys. I have a feeling they are in my filter tubes somewhere as when I stop and start the filter when doing water changes a batch of them get shot out in to the tank. The fish generally eat them and they have had no issues... yet.

These little buggers look like worms, this as a thread with their heads being cone/needle like. It's almost like a beak even. This portion is generally white/pale yellow in color and the body is very fine and thin like a piece of hair or string. They are quite strong and are able to maneuver in strong currents but direct currents over whelm them. Not all of these things have the cone/needle like heads though. Some look just like pieces of string bouncing around the tank.

These thigns came in/ were noticeable after I introduced some peacock eels to my tank. They had been in QT for 2-3 weeks prior to that so I'd assumed they were fine. Now these things may be completely unrelated to the timing of the eels coming in to the tank... it may be pure coincidence.

Does anyone know of what I am trying to describe?

probaly planaria not harmful but are probaly thriving on the conditions inside the filter, clean out your filter, do regular water changes, vacuming of gravel, and dont overfeed and they will reduce in numbers, they are quite common in aquaria and not alot to worry about, i see them from time to time and my bristlenose seems to take care of the few that show up
