Hi ive had a trio of Kenyan Pygmy Chamelions for nearly a month now and they are of a good size and nearly fully grown, and i belive they are 1 male/2 females. And what ive noticed is that one of the females has been spending more time away from the others and is looking rather pump and gravid, i was wondering could she be gravid with egg's? Or has she just eaten too many crickets ;).

Ive also noticed that the male has been spending more time on the ground and digging around in the substrate. Was just curious really as her belly does look very rounded.

Thanks for any advice!

Have just been and had a look at her from above as ive been doing some research and looking from above is a good indication, she doesnt look as chunky as i was expecting but i will keep an eye on them. The male is still walking around a lot on the bottom and i noticed he fell over aswell, as he doesnt seem to do a good job of walking on the ground, any reason as to why he might be spending more time on the ground? Or do they come to the ground from time to time?

Your female could very well be pregnet, what I recomend that you do is keep the terrarium as calm as possible, as for food give them mainly fruit flies, because this unlike crickets will keep your chams lean and wont chew on eggs or piss of mom. What form of heating do you have? I recomend you do absolutley nothing, leave the eggs where they were layed, people here have had more sucess with this aproach then trying to incubate them. As for the male if he is doing that maybe he feals somehow intimidated by the females. Whatch if he doesant look to good, this guys are very fragile, make constantly shure humity and heat are ok, and if need be put the male apart. Actually is not good to keep them in groups, this guys are solitary animals in the wild. People with some of these guys that lasted for a decent amount of time, all keeped them apart or in very large vivaria.
This chams are cool and easy to breed...they simply live relatively short lifes. Most of the big ones you buy in stores are old ones.

If he fell over that could be very well that something is going on with him, my experience with chams shows me that if a cham falls it aint good, healty chams all have a very strong grip.

Hi i meant that he fell whilst he was walking on the ground, and ill leave them all be and get some more fruitflies, i spray them a few times a day and have a heat pad on the back of the viv too.

Best of luck, I hope she's holding some eggs for you!

Keep an eye on the male, I've no idea if they play a part in nest building, but his behaviour sounds unusual compared to the other two.

Best,
Paul

They're leaf Chameleons........They use leaf litter, and are usually collected within two foot of the ground......They sit wierd, upside down, and in all directions........Females dig nests, Males are only sperm donors.......You can pretty much blow on them and knock them off a perch......

Agreed just leave them alone.

The female will lay eggs in the tank, they will hatch in the tank. Mine fall often. They are not the most nimble of geckos. And I would personally skip the fruit flies they are way too small and dont offer a lot of nutrition.

I was suppose to pick up my new group of 20 this weekend. My group of 20 ended up being a group of 4. My group of 4 ended up being a dead group of 4. I watched the vendor try to prop them up on stick in the container they were in before giving them to me. When I got it I flipped it up side down and they all fell to the bottom. The vendor then tried to tell me they were playing dead......
