possibly getting an fx5 for $50!

so a guy has an FX5 canister w/out the motor. he wants $50 for the thing w/out motor. and he said a motor is like $135 or so.

good deal? or bad deal? it comes with media and everything.

I mean, I guess if you can get the motor asap, and it goes in without a hitch, sure. But the media may die before then so if you do get it, get the media in another filter ....

EDIT: on that note, how is he keeping his media alive without a motor?

If it looks like it's in good shape, I think this could be a good deal.

yea, idk he threw around that his friend has a brand new one for $210 plus shipping adn its got the 3year warranty on it and whatnot. IM SOO CONFUSED! lol

@ OP Does his buddy have a brand new FX5 for $210 or does his buddy have a motor for that much? I got confused...
