my albino has 2 thin white hair-like sticking out a red spot as the picture shows ( bad quality has to re-draw) it looks like 2 white tiny worm sticks on and sucks on its head and the gill part. i wonder what are these two hair like thing. i wonder if it's an infection and can i just pluck it off . please help. barely got this guy from the lfs:confused: :(

I'm not much of a help... but I know Anne will help. Hope she's on sometime soon. Good luck!

Sounds like anchor worm to me

if it is how can i prevend it (non-med way? or have to :[?) if it is the anchor worm im sure its from the lfs

I had an infestation of those a while back in one of my grow outs. It started out on an albino senegal and eventually spread to the regular senegal and 2 palmas buettikoferi.

I don't believe they are anchor worms because anchor worms have forked tails AFAIK. I treated them as body flukes.
I used "jungle parasite clear" at half dose following the instructions. The worms were completely eradicated within a 24hours period.

thanks for the recomendation but my worry that if the med. will hurt my silver aro and 2 big frontosa?

It will not bother either of the fish you mentioned.Praziquantel is fish friendly and filter friendly in fact the of the fish youhave listed only the bichr tends to be intolerant of some medications -Anne
