It's possible that I will move about 3 hours from here.

I have a 10 gallon reef (started in jan 08) and will probally want to put everything in a brand new 30 gallon.

I'm thinking of bagging all the inverts and corals in seperate bags (or bucket?) and then put water/sand/and rock into a rubbermaid. Do I need to heat it somehow? Or would a 3 hour drive make little difference in temperature.

Should I setup tank at the new place first? I would hate to set it up and drive 3 hours down, and 3 hours back later.

Thanks, MM.

i would put all the water in like a 22 gal rubermaid and keep the sand in the tank and dont stir it up put the fish in the rubbermaid keep the rock wet somehow with newspaper or something and put them in another rubbermaid or something...as far as the temp of the water i moved a 75 gal with water only about 20 mins away but filled about 5 22 gal bucks a quarter of the way with the water so the rock was covered and filled one half the way put the fish in it and moved it and the fish were in the water for bout 2 hours and the temp belive it or not didnt really drop maybe like two degrees so im thinking you would be fine maybe throw the heat on in te car i guess it does depend on where you live and what the weather is

first thing i would move is the tank set it up let it settle while your moving another load unless your moving it all at once then unload the tank first and set it up good luck tho
