I have a 205 gal tank with a 70gal sump.
It's stocked with one RTG, three NTTs and six Clown loaches.
I read a little so i'm just going to write what i think i will need to do and if any of you guys have anything to add it would be helpful.
I need three foam boxes for the fish.
I need a rubber maid or plastic box for the filter substrate.
I need a company to move the tank, stand etc on the day.

My plan. Over a week or so clean out my tank of substrate. On the day of moving it'll have nothing but fish and water.
1st switch of the pumps and drain some of the water into the rubber maid. Once that is full take out the filter media from the sump and put it all in the rubber maid. Add an AC/DC air pump and stone.
2nd remove the rest of the water filling the 3 foam boxes (lined with plastic bags) until it's low enough to get the fish out. Put the fish in the foam boxes with AC/DC air stone.
3rd have the company (who will be there before anything is done) move the tank and stand in new location, followed by me with fish and filter media.
4th set up tank and fill with water, put all media back in the sump along with the water from the rubber maid. Fish back in the tank slowly along with water from foam boxes.
Switch on the pumps and it's all good.

sounds good to me! i took my fish on a 16 hour drive over the summer from south carolina to new york and they all survived! just remember to heavily duck tape the foam boxes or they WILL LEAK.

bump, can anyone add anything?

Hi CC, Long time I was off line! Back to the questions...

Duct taping the Styrofoam boxes is a good idea. However a visit to the Tesco and picking up either Large salable plastic bins not very expensive.. might prove better and easier to handle..
Or pick up one large bin and a 4 drawer set of drawers (plastic) each drawer becomes a transport container Then later you can set up the drawers as a wet /dry vertical filter! (Check out the DIY trhead for some pics of mine and others!

Good luck with the move
