How do you have your fiddler crabs set up?
As I said Iam just redoing the tank it shoud be done by tomorrow I was cleaning thetr tank and cracked it so I had to go out tonight and pick up a new one. I will post up pics as soon as I can.:)

I am interested in crabs. But know no care info about them. I was thinking of putting them in a rubbermaid, just don't know what size. At my LFS they have red claw crabs and these big African crabs.

i had* a tank of red clawed crabs and had about a half dozen in there. they have to have land and water so i took an old Styrofoam cooler and broke pieces to stack on one side then i covered them with gravel and placed a couple rocks in the water to help them climb up. they need moving water so a small pump is good to have but i just used those reptile filters from walmart for a waterfall like effect. i needed more room for my fish tanks so i gave them all away. one was HUGE he got about 3 to 3 1/2 inches across.

About 10 yrs ago I had a big crab. Don't know what kind it was he around 4 inch. Had him in a 10 gallon and fed him goldfish and crickets. He was so tame I would hand him a goldfish and he'd stick his claw out and grab it from me.

If your going ro get crabs most need some salt in the water. I have fiddlers and hermits. Fiddlers need salt water, sand to burrow in and I add wood to climb on. Hermits need salt water for their shells and fresh water to drink. Sand to burrow and molt and they like to climb. I will post pics as I set up tank tomorrow. Here is a pic of 1 of mine I have 5.

Cool. Thanks for all the tips. I bought a rubbermaid bin its about 8 gallons I think and the dimensions are 16x22x6. I was thinking about putting a crab or two in it. I'm not really sure on the species of crab though. I'd prefer something easy.

I have two of what are commonly known as soapdish or patriot crabs and one smaller red crab that I have yet to identify. They are semi aquatic but spend a good deal of time in the water.I will get some pictures on here when I get a better camera.
