There seems to be a few nano's popping up here and there and I fugured it may be neat to have all of them in one thread.

So here is mine
2month old set up
5.5g tank
red sea nano 15gph HOB filter
2- 15watt cfl 6500k bulbs
2ml florish excel daily
dry ferts IE index

plants--
cabomba
dwarf narrow leaf sword (probably dwarf hair grass)

Fish--
2 pea puffers
1 wrestling half beak (aka my mini arrowana)
2 fancy guppie/ endler hybrid crosses (?)

Thinking about trying to do a glosso carpet here soon. And maybe add some java moss to the wood. The cabomba has been growing like crazy and has a bud that may flower soon. The dwarf sword stuff sends out runners allmost daily. I just keep clipping them back.

Sorry about the cell phone pics. I know they suck. lol

Yea the half beak is my all time favorite mini fish. They only get about a inch long and have the attitude of a 12" cichlid.

I started with 3 but they call them wrestling half beaks for a reason. And this one is the last man standing so to say.

Hey just wondering what type of wood you used? looks good,I like the branchy look instead on the old bog log look Thanks

I got it from a lfs. It was labeled spider wood. I have had some huge pieces in my 125g for a year as well. The peice in the nano I did a little extra work on it with a propane torch to give it some more color. lol

Nice tanks guys. Do you have an algae problems with that small of a planted tank?

Not any different than a big tank. Actually easier cause you can use DiY co2 alot better in a nano. And any groomming that would need to be done can be done with out getting wet. lol

Thanks! The darios are proving to be a new favorite.

I'm not having any algae problems at all. There's just one spot at the top that I haven't felt like scraping off.

literally the only pic I have of my picotope CRS tank. It is a 1.5gl black sand with a red sea nano filter, no heater and 3 LED's for lighting. The plants are flame moss and anubius nana. It is stocked with some varied grades of CRS from C to A and a few cherry shrimp. They all breed great and the plants do fine despite the lack of Co2 or lighting. I never change the water on this tank, but because it's open topped, the water evaporates quick enough that all I need to do is top it off a few times a week and it is the equivalent of a 40-50% change a week.
