I generally agree. There's a limit to how much we can adequately meet certain animals' needs, and personally, I think the line should be drawn at large predators, such as big cats, large constrictors that exceed 20 ft, and also, crocodilians. Most people simply do not fathom the issues with keeping a large crocodilian, or more regrettably, just don't care...and its always the animal that suffers. It's merely a status symbol to them, the "cool" factor, or perhaps just compensation for certain diminuitive parts of their anatomy. My suggestion to these types of people is to buy a sports car or a Hummer instead. You'll end up spending the same amount of money either way, more of your family & friends will enjoy the vehicle more than the animal, and no one runs the risk of losing a limb! And the added plus is one less crocodilian has to spend its life in captivity.
However, there are the elite few that have the know-how, space, money, and energy to keep a crocodilian. Regrettably, I don't know of anyone here offhand that I'd recommend heeding their advice, nor do any good sites come to mind. But I've never been in the market for a croc, so I haven't looked very hard either.
