hey everybody post pics of your ornatum

Very nice and thick male Balton:) could you dig out some pics of your females you had too as i am curious to compare differences between the sexes to see if there might be other indications for sexing other than venting, thanks

Very Pretty Ornatum, balton777, do you mind telling me what you feed him and what PH do you keep him in? Also what size tank is he in, and what other cichlids are in the tank with him? I am just asking, because mines colors looks like yours at one point and now, I don't see as much red on him anymore... Anyway, good job, he is gorgeous :)

splendid color.

Here is my old male that got killed buy the larger female. I dont have any pics of my new male right now. See what im talking about with the spangles FWP.

Sorry I can't seem to find any pics of the female...except when she was very small.

Thanks. the ph as the water comes out of the faucet is 7.4-7.5. His daily diet is a mix of 1mm, 2mm and 3mm NLS pellets. But every few days, he gets treated with Massivore pellets, market shrimp, frozen krill, bloodworms or PE mysis shrimp. NLS has a lot of krill which I hear brings out the reds in fish. Do you have dark substrate?

I think it's the light colored substrate that brightens up his reds. Look at NOLAGT's Ornatum, they don't have substrate and are dark colored, like they're trying to camoflage to the tank. I wonder what would they would look like over a light colored sand.
