In this thread we can post pics of our oddbar clowns and describe the patterns.
My largest and dominant clown has the most variation I've ever seen in a clown.
To start, it has a saddlebar second stripe and a 'pill' shaped mark directly on his belly between the ends of the saddlebar (as if he had a saddlebar on top and bottom) with a perfectly round spot on the left side.
What's really interesting, is that the spot wasn't there as a juvie, but showed up as a small grey area that became more prominent as it grew. Most clowns I've seen with spots had them as juvies, and were always dark in color.
On the right side, it has a half-moon shape that connects to the anal fin, but as the fish grows larger, it looks like it is stretching and going to become a full spot.
It also has the 'jigsaw' third stripe. (on a normal clown, the third strip should be a straight appx 45 degree line from dorsal fin to anal fin)
There is also another spot developing on this side the way one did on it's left side, so my loach may be the first to have a figure eight shape on it's side????
I'll post a clear pic later this week to show what I mean. For now:
My only other oddbar clown has a saddlebar on the left side, but on the right side, you can see that it's a saddlebar with a normal triangle tip that almost circles all the way to connect to the other side. I don't have pics of it so I will take some and post them here too.
