hey the lfs got in some red tailed barracuda and they look really cool. i probably won't get one yet, maybe in a few years. so can i see some of yours and their setups? i like to plan years in advance. i have been planning my current project, my 125 new world cichlid tank, for over 2 years:screwy:. and am planning my next tank:headbang2, and may include a red tailed barracuda or 2. so can we see some of yours...

saaa-weet!!! after just one pix i want one. what tank mates are good with them? i am going to start thinking about my next tank and want to do a super aggresive south american tank. what size tank would be good? thnx. it will probably be 2-3 years before i do this one like the current one took.

yellow tails get bigger and grow faster than the red tailed varients 75 gallons would be good size for maybe three cudas

sweet that is the size i am planning for my next monster tank... i want to do a 75 with 1-2 rtb's, 1 red devil, and 1 wolffish ( like a red or one of the other smaller species) and 1-3 pimelodus blochii. would they do ok with thoose tank mates?

Hey experiment were those Acestrorhynchus at Critters in Taylorsville? If so those are A. falcirostris which get up to 16".

I disagree with some of the statements - (I'll have a pic of 3 diff. species of Cudas for ya tonight) - Red tails are IMO way more aggressive than yellow tail varients, they need a vey large tank to shoal and a considerable amount of this species to disipate aggression- like mbunas. Although some species w/ yellow tails can grow to 16" the Red tail is far more robust and can still get a formatable 10-12" in larger tanks. It's been my experience that Red tails are far more excepting of non-live foods even flake and pellets, giving them a much better and faster growth rate.
