hi guys i was wanting to add some carbon to my sump to help remove tannin from my water and also add a water polisher, but i dont really have a place to add it in the actual sump. so i had a though of making a 2 inch pvc camber that will be inline after my pump that i can add carbon or other filter media to if i need to. my though is to take a section of 2 inch pvc pipe and add a 1 inch barb fitting to the bottom of it then add a screen to retain the filter media then i will have an open chamber and a removable cap that will also have another 1 inch barb fitting on it. when it comes time to add media i will have a union in the line so i can unscrew the cap and place the media bag full of carbon into the filter reattach the cap and away it goes.
