Ok Just interested in people who keep tetra schools
preferably mixed

im currently experimenting with
5 Hatchet fishes
6 Glow lights
3 Harlequin rasboras
8 neon tetras

atm they all get along but dont school together as of yet..
grrr:irked:

I have neon, blood fin, buenos aires, and glow-lite Tetras, they all seem to group together. it could be your size of tank, how many gallons does your tank hold? if it is a larger tank the fish may have more room to swim around in, that is my best guess. but other than that all i can say is to give it time and let them settle into the tank. i am sure they will school soon enough..

i have 16 black skirt tetras in a 100g tank and they are great to watch all of them move across the 6ft tank. also i never intended on them actually surviving, because a friend gave them to me to cycle a tank for piranhas and they have all survived the last 8 months without a single loss

The best schooling tetras that Ive ever kept are black neons. Classic schooling and shoaling behavior. I had a school of 100+ but got rid of them. Will be doing it again soon in an Iwagumi tank Im setting up.

I am hoping to get 6 black neon tetras or if i can't then Harlequin rasboras....

sorry, no tetras. However my bala sharks, splendida rainbowfish, tiger barbs, giant danios, and my rainbow shark all school together in my 180 gallon. Then I have a school of 7 angelfish (they love staying together in a big group) and a school of 10 corydoras (5 bronze and 5 albino) also in my 180 gallon. In my 125 gallon my tinfoil barbs school very tightly.

Hopefully getting 6 neons and 6 black neons for my 10 gallon planted tank.
