Hi,
I recently made my own fish "journal". I thought It would be cool if people would post there own fish hobbey journey here. I already posted an article with my diary, but here it is.
So I thought I might write a little journal about my aquarium hobbey over the years. It's not exciting, and most of it involves a 20 gallon aquarium, but you might enjoy it anyways (it may have an exciting ending).
So it started when I bought my first beta bowl. We had one purple-red beta named Sally (we also had a hermit crab named Sally). Sally lived a fairly uneventful life (BORING!), and then...He died (yes we didn't know it was a he when we named it). He had been getting sick, so we buried him in the back yard.
Skip forward a few years! I bought a 20 gallon aquarium, with a bio wheel filter and all that great stuff. I filled it with all kinds of weird goldfish
, but tragically, almost all died. Dedjectedly (But not discouraged!
) we bought some guppys, hoping for the best. I went on vacation. And when I came back there were 5000000000 little guppys everywhere
. They bred and bred and bred, until I had a black football sized cloud of guppy fry in our tank. Then I moved. The guppys (all 500000000000 of them) were given to someone else.
After that, I bought some tiger barbs, a khuli loach, and a gold gourami (I was aiming for a "aggresive" tank). To keep a long story short, the gold gourami practically maulled the other fish. I gave him back to the fish store, and bought a few red eyed tetras. Unfortiunantly, everyfish was getting sicker and sicker (I still don't know why). Finally it got to the point where I had to unthanize all of the tiger barbs
and give the red eyes to the fish store. The khuli loach was still kicking though.
So now, onto my current setup. It's a little crowded, but everybody seems to be getting along in there. I bought 4 glass catfish (They're see thru!
) and 5 harliquin rasboras. I also bought two more little khuli loaches (the big guy is getting FAT) a amano shrimp (Maestro) and a bamboo shrimp and vampire shrimp
Soon I'm going to upgrade to a 75 gallon
. It'll be awesome....
THanks for reading
So, just post your experiences with fish, like i did here.
Cheers,
Lord Barium
