Hello people

I'm new to rays, and i'm a bit confused about all the naming of the rays.

What are the differences between these 3 names?

I mean they are all Motoro's so you would think that they are all the same species, but appeantly they are not? How does this work?

I understand that the Motoro blue is an ordinairy Motoro which is blueish when it is a juvenile and looses the blueish tint once its grown to adulthood, is this correct? Or does a Blue motoro distuingishes itself from an ordinairy motoro in other ways once its an adult?

Then there is the Motoro Marble as well? Is this a kind of sub species, or can an ordinairy Motoro give birth to a marble, or motoro blue?

They are the same species but color morphs. Blues are exactly what you mentioned, the blue color probably created by some natural food they lack in captivity. Thats why older blues turn into 'normal' motoros. Marbleds are also normal motoro but with a very nice color morph, namely the marbles around the spots.

You would need marble parents to get marble pups..

Motoro rays to me are the easiest to keep to me. Not to mention that the cost is not as high. Retic rays are cheaper around here, but are harder to keep in my opinion.
If you are new to this, then in my opinion, Id get a nice large set up, and get a Motoro. Maybe even a second after a few months of having the first one.
Reg Motoros are great. Marbles are beautiful. But more expensive. So, Id just get a reg Motoro for now. If you do good, make your second a Marble.
Even get a female and then a Male.. maybe in a few years you will be able to breed.
