pot or no pot?

when buying smaller live plants to put in a tank, and they come in that spongy pot, do you usually take them out of the pot or leave them in? i take mine out and bury them in the gravel, but my friend leaves hers in the pots, says they are easier to move around that way, which is true. and her plants seem to do fine. just luck?

take them out. the pot is just for shipping needs.your really not supposed to move plants around much in a planted tank.

I've heard that Amazon swords do better potted. Any thoughts?

Remove them from their pots it restricts root growth therefore development.
