Pot Scrubbers and Canister Filters

Is it ok to use the cheap $1 store pot scrubbers in canister filters for bio media? I want to place some in there for when I need to seed a new filter, but I am to make sure it will work even with them being fully submersed. I have 2 XP3s I'd probably load the top basket with them and then a 2217 I could stick some in.

NO reason it wouldn't work but you'd want at least one layer of mechanical foan BEFORE the scrubbies. Once established with BB they will pick up junk like a magnet and clog easilly.

they work good i have an fx5 full of them.

They will work, but they are very inefficient for canisters.
