just wondering if you guys can give me a little info on using pot scrubbers, seen them used,i,m thinking they are like bio balls,do they collect more bactirea vs bio balls, thinking of using them on my sump under my bio balls have fx5 filters under my bio balls but there not working out so well, the tank in question is a 600 gallon 90 sump tank wet dry trickle system

yes they have greater surface area to collect bio (better than bioballs)

You have to make sure you have good mechanical filtration before them though.
They are tightly packed and can clog up.

I used to be a huge scrubbie believer until little bugs started nesting in them and my filter room filled up with flying bugs hatching from them. Scrubbies gone, bio balls in. No more bugs.

I'm not saying don't use them but that's my story ;)

so the plastic scrubbies birthed bugs :screwy:

LOL, yes they did. We live out in the country so something must have found it's way from the good old outdoors and just happened to find a perfect home in the scrubbies. The bio balls have less surface area but greater flow and the little buggers can't take hold to them.
