pot scrubbers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The scrubbies are supposed to have water drip on the stack of them so it depends on the air space you have under your final filter. Over-stuffing doesn't do much good and is self-defeating at a point. Just stack one on top of another till they're just below the filter.

Totally off subject, but my 55 gal came with an extra hob, it's smaller than a 10/20, I didn't have the right size filters. So I had a couple extra pot scrubbers, I stuck them in there. don't think it'll do much, hoping it does some biofilteration. wander if a sponge would've worked better?

It'll take a while, but it will start a bio process. And if the return water is splashing going back in, all the better.

If you wanted a filter, then go witha sponge or poly fil batting, just make sure it can't get sucked into the filter.

So far I have boughten 60 pot scrubbers for my 20 gallon sump, which is not made yet. Is there a way to get the water in the sump to go higher than the drip chamber without the water covering the bio media in the drip chamber. I guess I am trying to see if by putting in some dividers if it is possible. does that make any sense at all?

If we're thinking the same way, yes. We really need a pic don't we.
