Hello, i am new to this forum.
I bought a pair Potamotrygon henlei a few weeks ago. Wild caught. When i introduced them to the tank which is 800 liter dunno how much that is in gallons, with good filtration etc. the male got fungus and wasnt eating very well. I started with regular water changes 20% everyday for some time and added acuarium salt. the fungus got better and he is fully recovered now. They werent eating the first days, i tryed alot and finaly they ate some landworms. Now to my question. They eat landworms like never before 3x / day and alooooot ! :)
Which is good i guess cuz of the rich protein in it. But i want get them to eat frozed shrimps or pellets etc... and thats my question how !?
ive tryed but they wont take frozen food.. nither pellets and worms are expensive for me cuz of the place i live in, cant find them in winter so easy..
I am from Sweden and forgive me if i am not very experienced but i love these stingy things ! :) help me out please. How do i get them to eat frozen food? and give me advice/tips if you have any for MFK newbie :)

WELL.... I have a motoro female, she was eating worms then instantly went to tilapia... I have a female marble wild caught.. she took to worms instantly but not tilapia... I actually slowed down on the worms, and let her get real hungry then put in 1 worm and some chunks of tilapia... she thought it was another worm i guess and started to bite into it... but then stopped when she figured out it wasnt a worm...i did this for about 4-5 days, now she eats tilapia... if you can get them to atleast start to nibble on the tilapia, soon after they will take to it im sure. OR i just got really lucky...? haha goodluck

feed rays what they want and give rays alternative foods until they take be patient some rays are finicky eaters. i have a flower ray that will not eat any thing but earthworms tried to starve to get to eat other foods got a very skinny ray this approach is wrong and will not do this again. my hens went to other foods in a short time get them fat and happy and prob won't be long.

Your first objective is to get the rays fat and healthy first. Once they can maintain and keep their body weight, then you can use the starve method to get them to take other food.

thanks guys, il try that. The male is kinda skinny, il feed him with worms and try with pellets/frozen foods sometimes til they take it.
I guess it takes time as you guys say.

I had recently got 2 as well, wild and started them on fresh water smelt, now they are on pellets.

try the smelt first.
