I think many in here, will know the frist pic. And from what i know, its a scobina like species from brazil. Frist specimen is small.

The next is the so called "Potamotrygon marinae" from french Guyana.

Both have very short tails. Both have eyes that are very close to each other.

And both have similar colour and pattering (ok the last one have been in alcohol).

Just the thourght of a scobina like species makes me tick.

What do you guys think?

Look like the same ray to me but I am not very good at IDs

Yes they are very close, but yet so far. In my mind, the last one is more "flower" than the first one. The first one have more "regular" spots.

Also i dont see any "tiger stripes" on the first ray, but i do on the second.

Need more and better pics.

From those pics you cant really get much. However, I think they appear to be two different rays. The second ray has a MUCH thicker tail at the base as well as a disticnt banding pattern the first ray lacks. Tail length in this case is irrelevent in my opinion as they both appear to be decently large (not pups) and being wild who knows what all may have nipped it off. The second rays tail is 100% not complete.

The first ray does NOT appear to be scobina. Its eye look HUGE and scobs dont have that characteristic. Both very interesting rays though!

I said the first one had the "scobina look". ;)

I have had the real ones, so i know how they look.

But yhea. I think they are 2 different species too.

Also, scobinas dont have small eyes. ;)
