Hey,

After so much uncertainty about what this ray actually is I decided to just jump into and buy one hoping it will be something cool. I have kept Orbignyi before from different areas, but none of them were worth the money I am spending on this guy. My hopes is that it will turn out to be scobina, like some of the rumors have lead me to believe. I also got some information about them from a trustworthy source. He told me they were a shallow water form of sp.Xingu, and the only difference between them is the adult size (shallow water forms are smaller) and base color (xingu grows up to be almost completely white with dark markings and this one will grow up to be tan/gold with similar markings)

Anyways I am keeping my fingers crossed and hopes this fish comes in as something cool. I will post pictures once I get him home, acclimated and in a tank I can actually take pictures of him in.

Wish me luck,

Justin Morash

I just got the one this year because I would have been pissed if I would have spent a few grand on a ray I don't want haha.

If I like them I am going to bring in a few more next year.

Thanks Marius,
