Hi guys,
New to the site here, I am doing an increasing amount of research (slow day at work) about different cichlids. Right now I have 2 Calvus cichlids and 1 compressiceps cichlid in a community tank with some roselines and tetra (never had any problems with any aggression from them). I was thinking about moving them into their own SA cichlid tank. The issue is, the tank isn't huge. Its a 38 gallon which is the same footprint of a 29 gallon, but taller. I have some great rock I've used previously to make a cool stonehenge look that was largely unappreciated by the roselines and tetra that I thought would be great for cichlids. That being said, I don't know what my stocking limit is. I don't think the following is too many fish if they were all on different levels, but I recognize they will crowd the bottom portion of the tank. I can stack the rock pretty high though if that will alleviate crowding and aggression. Any thoughts?
-2 Calvus (pretty small currently)
-1 compressiceps (also small)
-2 Kribs
-2 Bolivian Rams (I'm hesitant because I've never been able to keep them alive prior in a community tank)
-1 Agazzi
-1 Checkerboard
