alright, its almost time for me to get my 150 and I've spent a couple months thinking about what I want to stock it with. For starters, my 3 Bala's, 3 Tinfoil barbs, and my gold nugget pleco will be in the tank for sure. After that my vision is a little hazy, I have a couple fish in mind that I think would work and I would enjoy, but I just can't decide. So I'm hoping you guys can give me some input.

One of the options I was considering was an oscar and a red severum, and maybe one more fancy pleco

Another option I was considering was a red severum with a school of congo tetra and another fancy pleco.

and then the last option is a small school of clown loaches and an oscar

These are just the combinations I can think of. All opinions are welcome.

Thank You!:D

Bichir! :D

Ehhh I'm really not a fan of them

Then you should go with a Royal Pleco :)

I have 17 Frontosa in my 150, and I will tell you, you will be kicking yourself for not getting a 180.

I do really want a royal pleco, and almost got one about 3 months ago, but I pulled back because my 55 is acrylic.

I could get a 180, it just depends on what deal I can find on CL. I see alot more great deals for 150 complete setups than I do 180 complete setups. I can find 150's for 300 usually once a week, but all 180's are usually around 500 :(

Oscar sounds nice, as would a large Pleco.

Yea I've always wanted an oscar and if I decide too I can get one soon and grow it out in my 55 with my balas and tinfoils. I don't want too big of a pleco. I'd like something that only gets to like 10 or 11 inches, thats why a royal may be to big, although considering its growth rate, I'd probably have alot of time to upgrade before its too big

To be honest, the 3 tinfoils and 3 bala's are to much now...they will outgrow the 150. Now if you plan on getting bigger later or moving them out, then I would go with the Red Severum and maybe get a Rotkiel to go with it. Maybe add a chocolate or veija :) Of couse you can see from my sig that is what i'm working on right now in my 180. The tetra would probably not work with the tinfoils and bala's after some time because they could catch them.

I personally don't think the Bala's and Tin Foils would outgrow the 150, and congo tetras are fairly big tetras. Not to mention the Bala's and Tin Foils have fairly small mouths (especially the bala's)

They say 100 gal minimum for 1 adult bala, so you would be pushing it.

As for tinfoils, with only having 3 would be fine IMO. But I would not have more than 5. And depending on which tinfoils you have, some get bigger than others.

How exactly do you plan on decorating the tank? plants? rock? flower pots? The space used by the decorations can also dramatically affect your stocking options.
