So a friend of mine saw a girl on his Facebook post this picture. Thing is last we knew she lived and worked around us, which would be North Florida. Where in the winter the temps drop deep into the teens and we often get frost and even flurries of snow. Now I know there was a topic on here about cold water pbass, but is it possible that this is thriving here? How old do you think it is, and what species?? I'm going to find out the location of the fish if possible

Looks like an ocell. From what I can tell, Florida stocked both monos and ocells when they were introducing pbass, so could be a hybrid as well. I would be very skeptical about them spreading naturally, since the temperature and more importantly salinity would keep them from hopping up the coast. I agree about the idea that they were released. Maybe someone wanted to try stocking their canals with some fish from down-state?

It's possible that this girl went fishing in South Florida and took a picture of her catch?

Entirely possible. I can't imagine they're able to live up here naturally with how cold it gets. I know they were introduced up north but quickly died out because the water conditions just didn't suit them
