I currently have a 150 gallon aquarium that's running an Eheim 1200XL and an Eheim G90.
The hose disconnect on the G90 just broke and am contemplating replacing the filter rather than fixing it.
In a perfect world I'd buy an FX6 or FX4 but the door openings on my stand are too narrow to remove them for cleaning. How much height does one need in the cabinet to remove the media for cleaning?
Alternatively, I was looking at the Fluval 406, which appears smaller than my eheim but is rated for larger aquariums. Which is better, the 406 or G90? Really wish Fluval has something in their lineup between the 406 and FX4...
Several local shops have been pushing the Aquatop CF500UV. From what I've seen it looks both interesting and cheap. Reviews have been mixed. Is this in the same ballpark as the Fluval or eheim? Seems to move a tone of water.
I could get another 1200XL but I'm just not a fan of the one I've got.
What's my best move (other than having sumped the tank in the first place)?
