I tried it and it works. Plus I get some nice zero maintenance plants in my house. My Nitrates dropped from +80 to 10-15 in about a month. I highly recommend it.100_1529.JPG100_1523.JPG100_1521.JPG100_1520.JPG100_1517.JPG

Lovely jack. Would work great for my outdoor tank, I should pick up a HOB or some kind of container so I don't see any roots in my tank. How fast is your growing?

After reading a thread on this last month I noticed that I had a pothos in my kitchen and took 4 - 3' clippings and placed the cut end in the tank. Nitrates went from 40 to 10 in one week.

Nice! So it's in your HOB filter?
Yes. I took the filter pads out and put in some gravel. Then I put the roots down in the gravel. I'm running a Fluval 405 on this tank, so I don't really need the HOB for filtering.

It's growing fairly fast, as long as I flip my light on it's side for a while each day so the plant can get some good light. I have some growing in my 135 that don't get as much light, and they're not growing as fast. BTW, these plants use a lot of water. Since I put them in, I've noticed my water level goes down in my tank faster.
Thanks for the comment on the Jack. He's the pride of my fleet.

I wish I had tried it sooner.
