If you got a big plant with lots of roots should give the top cover. Or just put them on top of you hood and make holes for the roots

I want to do some on my aquarium, but my question is; how would you do so with jumpy fish?

Ive read somewhere that you could plant them fully submerged or even just drop them in the tank and they would grow. I doubt they would be as effective because of the lack of CO2 in the water. Me, I just took a couple of vines, removed the roots, used one of them to tie the group together, then placed it in the corner of the tank with the glass lid open just enough to fit the stem and a good 4" of the plant dipped in water. After just about a couple of weeks, roots have started to emerge. Looks awesome IMO. I also use the lid to hold the plant in place.
