Well here we are, one day before the deadline to place entries in the POTM competitions. My system for determining which photo to submit starts with every shot I keep that I think is potential contest material. I have six images in my "photocontest" folder that I am currently contemplating.
I study each one and critique it as if I was voting for it in the contest. While all are good captures, I can find a flaw in each IMO. A technical flaw would keep it from scoring high for the APF contest because of the higher standards here compared to other site competitions.
I'm guessing that other members share the same dilema this time of the month. I'm almost at the point of skipping the August contest and wait for the "homerun" shot to appear for next month. Or, I could say, the he%# with technicallities and go with what I find interesting. But, with that logic, I'm almost guranteed a low socore on the technical difficulty points.
Hmm, too nice a day to be worrying about this. I guess I'll lbe shooting into the night
