I have a neighbor who has had a pound in her backyard which she has had for over 20 years and she had several Goldfish who where five to six years old. This June she spent $3000 dollars to have a small waterfall added to it by a local pound service company to it and a new liner along with several new rock features to it. The pond's new water fall is about 18 inches wide and 18 inches wide and the old 20 year old pond it was added to was about eight feet long and five feet wide and about around at it's deepest at two feet deep.
I saw the revenated pond around July and now around Sep it was all green and the 23 Goldfish that where living in it all died. And now she can't get the pond to turn clear again. So she called the pond company that built it they came over tested the water said that it was fine and drained the pond and then refilled it they then charged her $150 for their time and she put the remaining five Goldfish in. A week later the pond turned green again and her other remaning fish died and now her pond is still green and with no fish.
I looked at the ponds filters and the water is still flowing though them very good though a massic fabric filter from the side of the pond to the top with the small water fall. I was thinking that maybe she might need a large gravel sump filter maybe but I could really use your guys help with this one to help my neighbor at the top of the hill with her Goldfish Pond Alega nightmare.
