Pounds Of Sand For A 90g

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
1lbs per gal

Gives a good thick layer... not sure about your dims.. but in my 40b I did 40lbs.. but in my 125g I only did 75lbs.. both have 1 1/2-2" coverage..

I'd say just go with a 50lbs bag.. I think it will get you what you want.. I'm just suggesting though... What do you plan on using..as far as brand and color?

I want black and I was gonna try to look for Estes Ceramaquartz or go with Caribsea Tahitian Moon Sand. Other suggestions are welcome. I want larger grains, not fine sand.

50 pounds should do the 1" you're looking for. That's what I have in my 90 currently. I'm going to put a bit more in after the build I'm about to do.

The whole pound for a gallon thing doesn't really work... Footprint is what matters.
