Anyone with a Jaguar that pouts continually? My Jag's about 4", and I think half the time he is down in the corner laying on his stomach lie he is all pissy. The other half the time he's near the top waiting to be sloppped. Oddly enough I saw him trying to graze on some algae the other day which I found bizzare seeing as Jags are mainly carnivores.....:)

My Jag is about the same size and lies on the bottom in his lil corner of the tank> I dont believe its an attitude but just normal behavior. He feeds like a monster and has great color. If your jag is the same I wouldnt worry about it too much. Aggressive fish tend to be a lil more reclusive while small but come out when they get some size to them. My .02

He seems and looks like he is in very godo shape, eats pretty well, never spits his food back out, but his gut seems a little distended and kind of has since I bought him 3 months ago. Any chance you think this is bloat?

If he is swimming okay and exhibiting no other symptoms I doubt it. Just keep an eye on him. I just went and looked at my jag hes got a kinda fat belly too. Probably just a full tummy.:)

He's a little reluctant with pellets (he'll eat a few), but goes nuts on Blood worms & raw shrimp. I noticed he'll eat a pretty fair chunck of shrimp but he doesn't gorge himself like the Red Devils & Jack's.... My Jag from yesteryear used to flat out gorge himself, and wouldn't let any of his tank mates get anything to eat. I dunno, maybe because I've been reading about bloat I'm just paranoid, because he kind of has had the same body form since shortly after I got him, and it's been a little over 3 months, so I'm assuming he would be dead if he did have bloat....

That's probably a safe assumption. If you wat to flush him out a bit, feed him a few peas. They're like a fish laxitive of something. Just boil them a lil skin them (I smash them up a bit) and feed them.

true. It can't be bloat.
