Hey, i'm setting up my 125g right now and it's almost done but still in the cycling stages. I am making my tank into a 125g predator tank. I am looking to have
a puffer of some sort- not sure which kind yet
Angel- I've really been looking at the Koran or emperor
Snowflake eel
Niger trigger
and a tang- I have heard alot of difficult things about powder blue tangs but after thinking it over and trying to find a good substitute I find that I really want a powder blue tang.

Other possibilities- Red Corris wrasse, Harlequin Tust, would a flame angel be ok with a large angel or no?

If I decide to go with this (which I really want to) what are some good tips for preparing my tank for it? When in the process do you think I should put it in? Also any other tips at successfully keeping one?

Thanks alot

Also if you have any comments or criticisms of my current stock list any feedback is appreciated. Or any good ideas of what to stock.

Dont know much about powder blues, but i was told u can sneeze wrong around them and things can go wrong. Then again some people might have had no problems with them. One thing i might point out, you might want to add it last. Considering its a new tank. I would wait until its fully established. I just have got my tank to where the nitrates are under control 5 months after cycling.

yeah, i'm thinking it's not going to be a while till I plan to add it. So i'll make sure my tank is pretty much as good as it's going to get before I add it!

The best thing I could advise is try and look for one that has been in someones tank for a while they are REALLY tricky to get to live fresh from supplier (ocean)...
I have a frind that took 5 of them to get one to live...
That one is fine..
Drip acclimate for about 5 hours or more!!

Also they are very touchy to water perams..
Very known for ICK...repeatedly

powder tangs can be sensitive to ph and salinty fluctuations but if in check the system is mature and you offer a variety of food they make great pets or should I say tank-mate's

ok I think i'll probably go for one in a while down the road- I plan on getting an auto top off so that should keep the salinity relatively the same. And hopefully I should be able to keep the other parameters around the same!
