I saw in other threads people talking about using galvanized stock tanks and stuff for indoor ponds. They said that to use it you needed a liner. Has anyone had a tank like that powdercoated? Would it work? Or am I just dumb?
I would be leery of galvanized, that is zinc, there are some bad chemicals involved in zinc. Powder coating might not last being constantly submerged either..
I use to custom powder coat different things for people, and i can tell u generally that once u powdercoat somthing it aint coming off. I find it hard to belive that it would come off even if submerged.

I know powder coating has some advantages, but try telling anyone who has had powder coated wheels on there boat trailer that it will stay on or prevent rust .You will be told otherwise straight away. All it will take is one chip.Water gets in and separation starts.
If you heat the object at about 150 for 15 mins then shoot it evenly you should have no problems and it should last. Theres also different textures you can put on thicker, hammer for instance. That smooth glossy stuff is a ***** and not as durable but i know that it works, because i've been shooting it on $5000 dollar hurricane shutters recently.....If the gloss works i dont see how the hammer could not...
I don't see any problem with the paint itself but there is something you should concider. For a number of years I owned 3 Land Rovers. For those who don't know what they are... a Rover (older type) is a 4x4 built totally out of stainless steel and galvanized alluminum. It's VERY expencive and iffy at best to get any sort of paint to stick to them for any length of time. Acid washing and special primers are involved that bring up several toxicity issues.
Personally I'd stick with the large rubbermaid type of stock tanks if you dont want to mess with a liner and then frame it with block.
If you think galvanized is the way to go, then do it, but like others said be wary of pc. I still stick by if you are using a metal container, just stick a liner that you can get at many different stores anywhere. Then again after buying the container and lining it, you might come off better just getting the plastic stock throughs. Been using mine for 2 years works great.
